Location: The port of Maanshan is located on the S bank of the lower reaches of the Changjiang (Yangtze) River at the borders of Anhui and Jiangsu Provinces. General overview: The port combines public terminals with special terminals, domestic, foreign trade and has 3 moorages: Xialinshi, Xiaohuangzhou and Hailun. The overall shore length is 41km including a 36km section of the Changjiang River, with a water area of 20,440,000m² and a land area of 1,680,000m². The port has 2 harbour areas, Maanshan and Caishi. The main cargoes handled in the port are coal, petroleum, ore materials, iron and steel, non-metallic ore, chemical fertilisers, agricultural chemicals and grain. Traffic figures: Approx 23,263,000t of cargo and 48,000TEU handled annually. Max size: 5,000DWT.
