General Description
Location: Neuss is situated on the W side of the River Rhine, opposite Dusseldorf, 290km from the open sea. Neuss is facing Düsseldorf, where the Erft flows into the Rhine.
General overview: The amalgamated ports of Neuss-Dusseldorf have a total area of 500ha with a water area of 115ha and total quayage of 28km. The main cargoes handled are agricultural products, other food products, oil and gas products, ore, metal, iron, steel, construction materials, fertilisers, chemical products and cars.
The entrance to the port is more than 30 meters above sea level, and the port has five piers. For commercial areas including oil plants (including oil mills SEL), container stations, production and automotive parts suppliers’ R&D department Pier Fort, Thomy’s production of cooked food, Knauf’s gypsum production, Tempo paper towels Production and many other production bases of various companies.
