Location: The Port of Firborgtangen, also known as Skogn, is situated 1.75nm ENE of Strandholmen. General overview: The Port of Firborgtangen is a peninsula consisting of the former island, Valoya, and reclaimed land that joins the island to the shore. The port is home to the Norske Skog Skogn AS paper mill, which is one of the largest in the country. The mill is located on the reclaimed land. On the west side of Firborgtangen, there are two breakwaters that enclose an extensive timber pound. In addition to the paper mill, there is also a Biokraft AS plant at the port that produces biofuel using several raw materials.
