General Description
Location: The port of Wuhan is one of China's largest river ports, located on the junction of the Changjiang (Yangtze River) and Hansui River, in the province of Hubei, 1,125km from Shanghai. The port's central location on the river means there is an extensive network of river and highway transport links. General overview: The port has five major port facilities at Zhuan Kou, Han Yang, Han Kou Old Port, Qinshan and Yang Luo handling cars, general cargo, timber, grain, ore, coal, crude oil, cement, fertilisers, steel, containers and passengers. The new port of Zuo Ling is under construction for the handling of chemicals. Traffic figures: Approx 50,340,000t of cargo and 348,000TEU are handled annually. Load line zone: Summer.
