General Description
Location: Krabi is situated on the W coast of Thailand, on the W bank of Mae Nam Krabi, approx 1.5nm within the entrance.
General overview: Krabi can accommodate small vessels only, with additional berths used for tourist boats. The deepwater port area of Laem Plong, approx 10nm W of Krabi town, is used for loading gypsum/clinker by conveyor and chute. Other cargoes handled there include charcoal, rubber and building materials for Krabi. The port is subleased to the Patana Krabi Co Ltd.
From the T-junction Krabi River starboard marker #5 head east, keeping to the south of Koh Noi and Koh Nu. Follow the channel north keeping them both to port until well clear of the north mud bank on Koh Noi into the Krabi River Marina. This 40-berth marina is just south of the main town and close to all the amenities.
Krabi ferry port in Thailand is served by a number of ferry routes with crossings to Phuket & Koh Phi Phi available. With a selection of up to 12 Sailings Daily, the port of Krabi connects Thailand with Phuket Island & Phi Phi Island.
