Location: The port is on the right bank of the Onega River, 3 or 4nm down river from the White Sea. General overview: The port is open for navigation 6-7 months of the year, from mid-May. In autumn icebreaker assistance is generally required. A vast area of shoal waters is situated at the mouth of the river. The port specialises in timber exports. Limited repairs to vessels are available. Traffic figures: Approx 60 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Max length 124m, max draught 6.1m.
