Location: The harbour lies at the head of Solvesborgsviken, a well sheltered inlet on the N side of Hanobukten. General overview: It is a medium sized commercial harbour with good facilities for handling a wide range of general and liquid cargoes. Exports: Timber products, wood pulp, paper and agricultural products. Imports: Corn, clay, chemicals, steel plates, timber and woodchip. Traffic figures: Approx 700,000t of cargo handled and 500 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Outer: LOA 170m, draught 7.7m. Inner: LOA 125m, draught 5.8m.
