Location: The Port of Kuching is located in the east region of the state of Sarawak. General overview: The Port of Kuching is strategically located close to industrial estates, making it convenient for cargo transportation. The port has four terminals: - Pending Terminal: (6 Berths / depending on vessel's LOA) - Biawak Oil Jetties: The jetties are exclusively for tankers carrying petroleum products. (Accommodates vessels up to 5,000 DWT) - Senari Terminal: (4 Berths) The port provides facilities for tankers, Ro-Ro, general cargo, and container vessels. Its primary exports are rubber, timber, sago, and rattan, while its major imports include manufactured goods, machinery, and motor vehicles. Handling Equipment: - Multi Purpose Cranes Storage: - Oil Tanks - Open Yards - Warehouses - Transit Sheds Traffic figures: Approx. 1,930 vessels, 6,800,000t of cargo and 161,000TEU handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: - Senari Terminal: LOA 200m // Draught 7.6m // 20,000 DWT. - Pending Terminal: LOA 175m // Draught 7.6m // 12,500 DWT. - Biawak Oil Jetty: LOA 110m // Draught 6.4m
