General Description
Location: The Port of Hareid is a significant commercial and ferry port situated on the southwest coast of Norway
General overview: The Port of Hareid features a deepwater quay and a terminal building located at the head of Hareidsbukta, and two moles that protect the harbour. A light is exhibited at the head of each mole to aid navigation. The main commercial berth is located outside the moles and is exposed to easterly winds.
Additionally, there are two nearby anchorages for vessels:
- Hjorungavag, approximately 1.8 nautical miles southeast of Hareid, is a small, narrow inlet with sand anchorage for large and small vessels with available mooring rings.
- Brandal, approximately 1.9 nautical miles northwest of Hareid, is a small harbour with a single berth and is protected by two moles.
