Location: The Port of Cebu is situated in the North Reclamation Area of Cebu City, specifically in the Mactan Channel, which is a narrow strait between Cebu and Mactan Island. General overview: The Port of Cebu boasts an extensive quayage of 4,572 meters, providing 33 berths to accommodate various types of vessels such as general cargo, bulk carriers, Ro-Ro vessels, and container ships. Additionally, there are three finger quays, two of which handle international trade, while Shell Island, located southeast of the harbor, serves as a berthing area for tankers carrying both oil and liquefied gas. Mandaue Port offers domestic cargo and ferry facilities, while Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island provides bunker berthing, a ferry service, and bulk berthing at the General Milling Corp wharf. Furthermore, there are several private ports in the vicinity of Cebu. The port plays a significant role in facilitating trade, with key exports including hemp, coconut oil, tobacco, sugar, chrome, iron ores, cement, and copra. Principal imports consist of coal, petroleum, rice, salt, and general merchandise. The Cebu Port Network comprises the Baseport and the Subports, with the Subports serving as secondary hubs or management offices strategically located throughout the entire province of Cebu.
