Location: Jeju, formerly known as Cheju, is situated on the N coast of Jeju Island. General overview: The Port of Jeju covers 354 hectares of water area with a depth of about two meters and a tidal range of about 2.4 meters. The port is protected by 2 breakwaters, E is 330m in length and W is 1,300m in length. The Port of Jeju’s Quay is 1712 meters long and can accommodate up to 13 ships ranging from ten thousand to one thousand DWT. The Port of Jeju has three warehouse units of five thousand square meters with storage capacity for 9.7 thousand tons of cargo and open storage of 24.8 thousand square meters with capacity to store 37.3 thousand tons. Main cargo exports are livestock, barley, millet, marine products and eggs. Imports include rice, wheat, salt, liquors, sugar, tobacco, petroleum, textiles and cement. Jeju ferry port offers ferry services to Chuja, Wando, Busan, Nokdong, Yeosu and Mokpo. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA: 200 m; draught: 8 m; beam: 50 m. The largest vessel called at the port: LOA: 192 m; draught: 7 m, deadweight: 6,940 t.
