The port has an inland location and is directly linked to the UK rail system, motorway system and inland waterways network. Traffic figures: The port handles over 1,640,000t of cargo and 28,000TEU annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 100m, beam 24m, draught 6.0m, approx 4,500DWT. Vessels slightly over 100m may be accepted after consultation with Dock Master.
