General Description
Location: The port of Halden is located on the eastern coast of Oslo Fjord, approx. 116 km southeast of Oslo.
General overview: The Port of Halden is strategically located at the junction of Ringdalsfjorden and Iddefjorden, with quays on both sides of the mouth of Tistedalselva. The port is comprised of two distinct parts, an inner and outer harbor, and boasts quays with a total length of about 1000 meters and a depth of 7 to 10 meters.
During winter, icebreaker assistance is required for vessel maneuvering. The port primarily handles exports of paper, cellulose, timber, and granite, while imports include chemicals, coke, oil, and fertilizers.
