General Description
Location: Naestved is located on the SW coast of the island of Sjaelland, at the head of the canal in the NE corner of Karrebaek Fjord, approx 40nm SW of Copenhagen. General overview: Naestved is a medium sized commercial and industrial harbour. The port is usually open throughout the year. Exports handled include feed stuff and grain, imports include cement, cellulose, coal, fertilisers, general cargo, kaolin, timber and wood pulp. Karrebaeksminde: Situated at the entrance of the dredged channel, formed by 2 moles extends WSW either side of the canal entrance. Traffic figures: Approx 271,000t of cargo handled annually. Max size: LOA 119m, draught 5.6m with a beam of 12.2m (smaller draught if beam is more, eg 4.8m if beam is 14.5m).
