Location: Kerch is located in Kerchenskaya Bay, in the Kerchnskiy Straits joining the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov. General overview: Two handling terminals with 10 berths with an overall length of 2,050m. The port handles general cargo (metal products, equipment, etc.), bulk cargo (ferro-alloys, cast iron, scrap metal, iron ore pellets), containers, vehicles, bulk grain and ammonium nitrate. Traffic figures: Approx 2,500,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for vessels over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for vessels of 100m or less in length, Winter Dec 1 to Feb 28/29, Summer Mar 1 to Nov 30. Max size: LOA 200m, (longer vessels by arrangement with Harbour Master), draught 8.3m, 10,000GT.
