With 12 berths for cargo ships, 3 tanker berths, and an offshore supply base at Vikan, it is suitable for laying up large vessels and hosting cruise ships and regular passenger ferry services to the UK and Sweden. The port imposes no limits on vessels at anchor, including oil rigs. The principal exports from the port include paper, nickel, aluminum, timber, fishing nets, felspar, fish, and fish products, while the principal imports include coke, iron, nickel, grain, fuel oil, and cement.
