General Description
Location: Rosslare Europort is situated at the SE tip of Ireland, on the S shore of Rosslare Bay. General overview: The port has an artificial harbour and is protected from the E by a breakwater. Rosslare is the nearest crossing point to the United Kingdom and to Europe and provides unrivalled marine access to the main centres. In addition, vessels arriving and departing from the port are not subject to undue delays as there is direct access to the open sea. Imports are mainly general cargo; exports are agricultural produce and fish. Traffic figures: Approx 325,000 passenger cars, 100,000 Ro-Ro freight units and 50,000 trade cars, as well as 1,450,000 passengers handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone II, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Length 190m, beam 30m, draught 6.5m.
