General Description
Location: The Port of Sendai is situated on the northeast coast of Honshu.
General overview: The Port of Sendai is the largest vehicle export facility in northeastern Japan, with Honda and Toyota sending production models to the port.
There are four berths in the port, with the No. 1 berth serving as a crude oil import wharf. It has a water depth of 18 meters and can accommodate ships with a DWT of up to 150,000. The remaining three berths are product oil berths, with a water depth of 6.0-7.5 meters.
The Zhongye Wharf and six berths on the North Bank of Dongxigangchi are located from east to west. The wharf has a total length of 1165 meters and the water depth at the No. 1 berth is 12 meters, while the water depth at the other berths is 10 meters, making it suitable for vessels of more than 20,000 tons. The ferry terminal has a water depth of 7.5-8.5 meters.
The Raytheon Wharf is 390 meters long and 7.5 meters deep, with three 5000-ton berths. The port also has three berths with a water depth of 7.5-12.0 meters, which are used for loading and unloading of ore, coal, and steel products.
