General Description
Location: Vastervik is located on the E coast of Sweden. General overview: Vastervik harbour is divided by the island of Lusarna into outer and inner harbours. In Trebodersundet, between the SW end of Lusarna and the mainland, there are 3 jetties and 3 pontoons. There is a total berthing space of 700m with depths alongside of 1.0-3.0m. The outer harbour has depths from 7.0-19.0m in the navigable part of Lusaranfjarden, which is suitable for vessels up to 8.5m draught. Vastervik harbour can accommodate vessels up to 13,000DWT with a max draught of 8.5m. The harbour is well sheltered and equipped with modern facilities. The inner harbour has depths from 8.7-13.0m. It is suitable for vessels up to 5.5m draught, 95m in length and 14m beam. The principal exports are timber, pit props, wood pulp and craft liner in reels. Imports include iron wire, chemicals, pit props and manure. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 160m, beam 20m, draught 8.5m.
