Location: Karlskrona is located on the SE coast of Sweden in the province of Blekinge, approx 210nm SSW of Stockholm. General overview: Large, safe, deep natural harbour, which is generally open throughout the year. The harbour covers approx 400,000m². Exports are chiefly timber, stone, paper and grain. The port specialises in Ro-Ro, passenger and rail ferry traffic. Principle imports are quartz, sand, dolomite soda, petroleum products, chalk and construction materials. Exports include vehicles, timber products, ships and power plants. The port has 3 cruise berths. Traffic figures: Approx 351 vessels visit the port annually with a total of 350,000t of cargo. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Ferry Terminal Verko: Length 160m, draught 9.5m. Inner Harbour: Draught 8.1m.
