The shipping platform

Location: Kolding is situated at the head of Kolding Fjord (length 5.4nm), 3.5nm from the N end of the Little Belt. General overview: The harbour is open to shipping all year round and is well protected from heavy seas and floating ice. The port is equipped to handle most kinds of general cargo with railroad connections to all the piers. Traffic figures: Approx 1,000 vessels, 1,200,000t of cargo, 200TEU and 400 passengers handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Max draught 7.0m. Largest vessel handled: "Prof Kostivkov", 44,750DWT, draught 6.8m, bulk carrier for discharging.
