Location: Nykobing is situated on the W coast Falster Island, approx 75nm SSW of Copenhagen. General overview: The harbour consists of a continuous quay 1,000m in length, facing Guldborg Sund and includes Nordhavnen basin at the N end. The port is kept open with icebreaker assistance throughout the winter. Traffic figures: Approx 75 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 129m, beam 20.0m, draught 5.8m.
