Location: Frederikshavn is situated on Jutland at the N end of the Kattegat. General overview: The port generally remains ice free throughout the year. Traffic figures: Approx 2,800,000t of cargo handled annually, mostly Ro-Ro traffic. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: The size of the largest vessel depends on the immediate wind, current and wave conditions, and on the water level and depth conditions. With favourable conditions, a vessel LOA 180m and draught 8.0m can navigate within the harbour, however, vessels LOA 215m can be accepted for dry docking.
