General Description
Location : Laem Chabang is a deep sea port situated in Sriracha district, Chon Buri Province, approx 110km E of Bangkok, in the area of the Eastern eaboard which includes Chacheaongsao, Vhonburi and Rayong provinces.
General overview : Laem Chabang is a newly constructed port, built in order to relieve overcrowding at Bangkok and also for the purpose of expanding the industrial areas in the Eastern Seaboard. It covers an area approx 2,536 acres and consists of Basins 1 and 2, with 11 and 7 berths respectively.
There is a new cruise terminal capable of accommodating the largest cruise vessels, Ro-Ro vehicle handling, containers and agri-bulk facilities, mainly tapioca, molasses and sugar.

Wharf 2A is operated by the Laem Chabang International Terminal Limited under a 30-year contract. The pier is 400 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters. The Port of Laem Chabang Container Terminal is part of one of Thailand's biggest commercial undertakings. Located only two hours' drive from Bangkok, the modern Laemchabang Container Terminal offers a 400-meter long wharf that can accommodate Panamax vessels to 50 thousand DWT.
The Port of Laem Chabang's Navy Pier B is operated by LCB Container Terminal 1 Limited under a 27-year contract. The pier is 300 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters and can accommodate vessels to 50 thousand DWT. The Navy Pier B has capacity about six million TEUs of containerized cargo per year.
The Evergreen Company Container Terminal Limited operates Wharf B2 in the Port of Laem Chabang under a 27-year lease. The pier is 300 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters, and it can accommodate vessels of up to 50 thousand DWT. The wharf handles about 600 thousand TEUs per year.
Navy Pier B3 in the Port of Laem Chabang is operated by Eastern Sea Laem Chabang International Terminal Limited under a 27-year lease. The pier is 300 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters, and it can accommodate vessels to 50 thousand DWT. The Port of Laem Chabang's Navy Pier B3 handles about 600 thousand TEUs per year.
TIPS Company Limited operates the Port of Laem Chabang's Wharf B4 under a 27-year lease. The pier is 300 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters, and it can accommodate vessels of 50 thousand DWT. Wharf B4 handles about 600 thousand TEUs of containerized cargo per year.
Wharf B5 in the Port of Laem Chabang is managed and operated by the Laem Chabang International Terminal Company under a 30-year contract. The pier is 400 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters.
The Port of Laem Chabang's Wharf C1 is operated by Company Hutchison Laem Chabang International Terminal Limited under a 30-year contract. The wharf contains two berths, each with alongside depth of 16 meters, of 700 and 500 meters in length. The pier handles project cargo and about one million TEUs of containerized cargo per year. The company also operates the Port of Laem Chabang's Wharf C2, also with two berths of 700 and 500 meters in length and with alongside depth of 16 meters. Wharf C2 handles about a million TEUs per year. The Company operates Wharf C3 with a 500 meter long pier with alongside depth of 16 meters and annual capacity for about one million TEUs.
LCB Container Terminal 1 Limited operates Navy Pier D in the Port of Laem Chabang. Wharf D1 has a 700 meter long pier, and Wharves D2 and D3 each have 500 meter long piers.
The Port of Laem Chabang's Wharf A4 is operated by the Limited Inventory of the Gulf of Thailand. The pier is 250 meters long with alongside depth of 14 meters. The wharf handles products, sugar, and molasses and has a capacity for receiving general cargo vessels to 40 thousand DWT and handling about 700 thousand tons of cargo per year.
Mercer Company operates the terminals at the Port of Laem Chabang's Wharf A5. The wharf has a 450 meter long pier with alongside depth of 14 meters and serves roll-on/roll-off cargoes, particularly cars. The wharf can accommodate general cargo vessels to 70 thousand DWT and exports as many as 700 thousand cars per year.
The Company Hutchison Robert Mercer Limited operates Navy Pier C in the Port of Laem Chabang. The pier is 500 meters long with alongside depth of 16 meters and handles roll-on/roll-off cargo. The Navy Pier C handles about 1.1 million vehicles per year. The Port of Laem Chabang's Wharf C0 is also operated by the Company Hutchison Robert Mercer Limited. The 500 meter long pier has alongside depth of 16 meters and capacity to handle about 1.1 million vehicles per year.
Traffic figures : Approx 6,600 vessels, 45,000,000t of cargo, 580,000 vehicles and 1,000,000TEU are handled by the port annually.
