General Description
Location: Asnaesvaerkets Havn is located on the W coast of Sjaelland. General overview: The port consists of an oil quay, two coal quays on the S side of the entrance to Kalundborg port and an ash quay on reclaimed land in the SE corner of the harbour. There is regular ferry traffic in the harbour, a ferry passes by the pier at a distance of 100-300m from the pier head 24 times a day. The port only handles bulk coal and oil for the Asnaes Power Station. Traffic figures: Approx 2,500,000t of coal and 100,000t of oil handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: Oil Pier: LOA 300m, beam 50m, draught 9.2m. Coal Pier: LOA 290m, beam 45m, draught 13.0m, airdraught 17m, approx 160,000DWT.
