General Description
Location: Hoganas is situated in the Oresund, approx 20km N of Helsingborg. General overview: Hoganas harbour is privately owned by Hoganas AB, who handle their own dry cargoes. Two companies handling methanol and vinyl acetate monomer for their own production rent the chemical tanker berth (Berth 200). There is also a small shore tank farm for storage of the chemicals. Occasionally the harbour is closed as a result of ice. Traffic figures: Approx 120 vessels visit the port annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 130m, draught 7.4m.
